Assemblage of photocopied images, exhibition announcements and programs, and postcards from Australian artist Richard Tipping, as originally mailed to Ken Mikoloski, co-founder of Detroit's Alternative Press. OUTSIDE INSIDE program includes artist biography, bibliography, and exhibition history. From the accompanying letter: "Dear Mike [sic], Ellen Zweig suggested that I write to you, and send an AIRPOET card: this is part of the "Roadsigned" series of manipulated public signs [...] I'm putting together a collection of pics by Australian & American photographers of a similar kind called, of course, SIGNS OF AMERICA." Most of the reproduced images in this collection are captioned by Tipping, and include posters previously exhibited as well as examples of work intended for the planned but never-published SIGNS OF AMERICA. A unique collection of ephemera, hand-selected by the artist, with his own commentary.
