Detailed course syllabus for students of a Negro History class at the Workers School, an adult-education school founded by the Communist Party USA in 1923. Divided into ten lessons, each offering a Marxian analysis of various aspects of the "Negro Question," with a list of suggested readings for each segment. The title page notes the syllabus was "prepared by E.L.," presumably Elizabeth Lawson, chairman of the history department at the Workers School and, later, at the Jefferson School of Social Science after the former was absorbed into the latter.
