Washington DC: Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, [ca. 1970]. First Edition. Manila envelope, 9" by 6" approx., with sticker affixed to front, holding eleven pamphlets and one prepaid addressed envelope. Very near fine to fine overall with only light creasing to envelope's edge and a mild hint of foxing to one pamphlet. Overall, impressively sharp and bright. (Item ID: 21418)

Collection of informational pamphlets issued by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, a self-described "organization of organizations" bringing together over 120 civil rights groups. Among the Conference's officers were civil rights leaders Roy Wlikins and Bayard Rustin. The packet features pamphlets explaining the history and functions of the NAACP and the National Committee Against Discrimination in Housing, instructional pamphlets on political involvement, and a pamphlet looking into the white supremacist leanings of George Harrold Carswell, an unsuccessful nominee to the Supreme Court selected by Richard Nixon.
