Ownership signatures to front pastedown and endpaper. A handful of pages are torn or chipped throughout, though none missing. Pages very darkened with age; binding sound overall. 237pp., advertisements. (Item ID: 20282)

One of this British novelist's best-known works, originally serialized in THE GRAPHIC magazine (ending in the same year this edition published). An early attempt in the the "Lost World" genre, through a fantasy of an African queendom. Uncommon thus.
