(New Orleans): Loujon Press, 1963. First Edition. Small 4to. Multi-colored letterpressed sheets in cork-covered card wraps, with titles and skeleton decoration stamped to front cover, with wrap-around pictorial jacket (exhibtiing photo of the poet) - all as issued. An ornate production. SIGNED by Bukowski at first page in silver pen and dated Feb. 18, 1964, with a small abstract drawing penned above. Some light rubbing and edgewear; internally fine. Lacking publisher's loosely laid in repro of Buk's letter. From an unnumbered edition of 777 copies. 96pp. (Item ID: 19805)

An idiosyncratic letterpress edition of Bukowski poems, published early in his career when he was still "essentially unknown" (Weddle, BOHEMIAN NEW ORLEANS, 105). From Jon and Louise Webb's fine press, which also published OUTSIDER magazine. Lawrence Ferlinghetti called the book "the most beautiful printing of poetry I have ever seen in this country," and Kenneth Rexroth reviewed it favorably in the NYT Book Review (Ibid, 104). [Krumhansl 12].
