Price: $20.00

New York: The Viking Press, (1967). First American edition. 8vo. Orange illustrated cloth in pictorial dust jacket. A very good copy in like DJ. PROVENANCE: From the library of Diane Wolkstein, noted storyteller and folklorist, with her notes throughout (rewordings she used while reading the stories aloud). Light edgewear to jacket, 1" chip at bottom of spine. Internally clean overall aside from Wolkstein's notations. Good and sound. 185pp. (Item ID: 19111)

Collects the stories of the Nyanza people of Kenya. Offers an interesting insight into the method of Wolkstein, the former "Official Storyteller" of New York City.
