Some small abrasions to covers. Spine heavily rubbed, with small chips and tears. Bookplate at front pastedown (lacking a name). Interior overall clean and vivid, with some light foxing here and there. Small embossed ownership stamp at title page. Tissue guard for frontispiece partly detached. Good and sound. 250pp. (Item ID: 18842)

Book of old-English Christmas legends, history, and lore, touching on both the origins of contemporary British Christmas rituals and many lost traditions. With copperplate etching by Arthur C. Berhend (titled "The Wassail Song") as frontis. A handsome letterpress production, printed throughout in red and black ink.
