From an edition of 100 numbered copies signed by Gorey. Screenplay for an unproduced silent film. A recurring figure in Gorey's work, THE BLACK DOLL is imagined as the final installment of a serial in the style of director Louis Feuillade's "FantÙmas," whose work had a profound influence on Gorey.
