[Baltimore]: The Resisto Tie Makers, [1959]. First Edition. Folio. Illustrated card boards. Plastic comb-bound. One card leaf to interior with ephemeral advertising materials mounted and laid-in. Moderate handling wear to exterior. Overall good. (Item ID: 15539)

An original salesman's sample folio produced by the Resisto Tie company of Baltimore, marketing their Ban-Lon line of ties. Ban-lon, a synthetic yarn, touted for its wrinkle resistance and easy cleaning, was popular in the 1950's in ties, socks, undergarments, shirts, etc... This particular ad campaign featured a scene of two, stoic, portly men sitting at a lavishly decorated table with a full, cooked pig on the table. The image decorates the cover of this folder and a copy of the same graphic, pulled from the pages of a 1959 issue of the New York Times Magazine is laid-in loose, along with an illustrated, card store display.
