London: The Fortune Press, [1952]. First Edition. 8vo. Light edgewear, previous owner's penned name and brief bibliographic note to FFEP. Else fine, a handsome copy of this suppressed edition of Steven's poems. (Item ID: 1524)

Edlestein [A18] reports only review copies released before destruction of remaining print-run (though widely acknowledged that many copies survived in storage) after Faber & Faber's legal intervention to protect the primacy of their contract for a UK Stevens Selected. Due either to a miscommunication from Stevens or Knopf, or to a misunderstanding on Fortune's end (or a combination of all three), Fortune went ahead with a British selected despite Faber's securing of those rights from Knopf, Steven's US publisher. 107pp. with a forward by Dennis Williamson, the editor.
