Palmistry and chiromancy enjoyed a popular resurance during the uncertain and tumultuous years of the Depression and outbreak of the War with Meier one of its leading practicioners. She elevated the practice with her scientific approach and in 1937, at the request of President Franklin Roosevelt, donated the original 135 autographed palm prints, reproduced in this book, to the Library of Congress, where they currently reside in the institution's Manuscripts Division, along with her papers. Uncommon in jacket.
