Garden City: Doubleday, 1957. First Edition. Very good-plus in a like jacket. 8vo. Black cloth. In original illustrated dust jacket. Unclipped. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR, in the year of publication, to half-title page: "Hon. James Douglas: / I am happy to autograph / this book, because it contains / a brief account of one of the / finest gentlemen in the Motion / Picture Industry - my good friend / Merian C. Cooper. / Sincerely / Jesse L. Lasky / H'wood Aug 12/57." Jacket lighly rubbed at corners. Mild wear to cloth. A few instances of marginalia. Overall clean, sound. (Item ID: 14982)

Scarce, incsribed copy of the autobiography of Jesse L Lasky, one of the founders of Paramount Pictures and a profoundly important figure in American film. "Pages 188-189." also written to half-title page in ink, in a different hand than Lasky's, noting the section on Merian C. Cooper referred to in the inscription.
