New York: Farrar Straus & Giroux, (1975). First Edition. 8vo. Very good in a like jacket. Some toning to edges of DJ. Mild rubbing. One tiny closed tear. Unclipped. Some soil to boards. Warmly INSCRIBED by McCourt to Donald Lyons: "January, 1975 / For Donald, who commanded the / venture four years ago / right here in New York / City - with love / from his friend and admirer, / Jimmy." In addition, McCourt has extravagantly signed the book as the title character to the blank page following the end of the book. (Item ID: 13928)

A warm association of McCourt's first book, a novel about a fictional opera diva. The inscribee, Donald Lyons, was a fixture in Andy Warhol's Factory circle and appeared in several of his films, most notably "Chelsea Girls." He was also the longtime theater critic for the New Criterion, Wall Street Journal and New York Post.
