np: nd [ca. 1945]. Original B&W silver gelatin photograph. 6.5" x 4.5". Some fading to top edges. A bit awkwardly trimmed. A few hairline creases. Very good. (Item ID: 13750)

An unsettling photo, likely snapped on Halloween (given decorations seen over subject's shoulders), eerily juxtaposing the costumed man in blackface, the looming police officer (left), and the American flag (top right) - not to mention the birdcage. An odd bit of vernacular photographic Americana.
