New York: The World Publishing Co., (1969). First Edition. 8vo. Original orange cloth. Very good in very good minus jacket. DJ lightly edgeworn with small closed tear to rear panel and some faint sunning to spine. Couple of small creases to flaps. Small patch of damping to underside of jacket, not effecting book and noticeable only from verso. Book has touches shelf-wear at extremities. INSCRIBED by Ferdinand Marcos to front endpaper: "Jan. 4, 1974 / To Mr. Jacques J. Polak, / With my compliments / and best wishes. / Ferdinand Marcos." (Item ID: 13526)

Hagiography of the former Philippines president, inscribed to a prominent and long-time member of the IMF. Polak served with the IMF for more than four decades and was a key member of the 1944 Bretton Woods conference that helped fashion the post-World War II monetary system. Polak died in 2010. 365pp.
