Marable tragically died just days before the release of his revalatory and Pulitzer-winning biography MALCOLM X: A Life of Reinvention. Hutchings was a member of the Southern Freedom Movement of the 1960's and is currently the Senior Organizer for the Black Alliance for Just Immigration in Oakland. Marable's signature is increasingly scarce.
