[Collection of Four Volumes Related to the Development of the Apollo Program]
Various: Various, (1965-1966). First Edition. 4to. wraps all. Generally very good. Included are: APOLLO GUIDANCE AND NAVIGATIONS: Space Navigation Guidance and Control (Cambridge: MIT, June 1965), two tape-bound volumes; APOLLO PROGRAMS [sic] PRESENTATION TO AC ELECTRONICS (Elmhurst, NY: Kollsman Instrument Corp., January 1966), spiral bound; and THE LUNAR EXCURSION MODULE FOR PROJECT APOLLO (Bethpage, NY: Grumman, nd [ca. 1966]), stapled wraps. (Item ID: 13017)
Small and fascinating collection of technical and promotional materials used by NASA and its contractors during the development of the Apollo program. Never publicly circulated (and in one instance numbered for internal tracking), these are all inividually quite scarce. With numerous illustrations, charts, schematics, and designs throughout. OCLC located just six holdings for SPACE NAVIGATION GUIDANCE AND CONTROL, and no copies of either PRESENTATION TO AC ELECTRONICS or LUNAR EXCURSION MODULE. As a collection, therefore, a rare group of artifacts from one of the defining events of the 20th century: man's walk on the moon.
