M¸nchen: Georg M¸ller, 1913. Reprint. Small 8vos. Half leather over beautifully-designed and subtly-patterned floral boards with intricately gilt spine. Complete in two volumes. Very good with minor rubbing overall, a couple of bumped corners. Two scuffs to rear paper-covered board of Vol. II. Else an exceptionally elegant and lovely set. (Item ID: 11052)

A History of the Civil Wars of Granada. Translated from the Spanish. Really, two separate works, each self-contained, originally published around the turn of sixteenth century. Quite modern in style and tone, these are closer to historical novels than true history. In his "Chronicle Of The Conquest Of Granada," Washington Irving referred to these texts as largely a "fabrication." In German.
